Glenn is the man so i feel its hard to be impartial but its not all "cut and dry" here so i hope i can clarify some shit. . In his younger days he was an asshole at times (weren't most of us) but way to much got blown out of water and that context is was what some people will always remember .He did get knocked out yes but alot of people who know The North Side Kings have been outed for set-ups of other artists Glenn's first or last time being punched either so ? Did it go down like i wasn't there but there's usually 2 sides to a story (50-50) but it was a one sided affair in the media with Glenn getting 90 % negative headlines and Glenn was known for being short with reporters and cutting or walking out on interviews so it was a lot easier for metal industry rags to write the negative (and more mainstream outlets use their accounts. They just don't usually have metal reporter at Danzig shows so they pay to share or piggyback the story from someone closer to the story expecting "journalistic professionalism " but that's just food for thought ) Glenn by his actions with media in the past maybe fucked himself out of getting impartial treatment .He was shitty to media they were shitty back.On the other hand Danny did get garner fame overnight and it continues to be his claim to fame. I believe he wrote a book (about one punch) few yrs back .And used the next 8 yrs of his life after the punch to fill the rest . So like i said 2 sides ...now lol. It was either love or hate the Glenn but recent years and having more time he's grown much more patient with interviewers and seems to enjoy the sit downs and it shows .Back in the day he fn hated interviews and you can tell He's still says what he's thinks but with a calmer tone and more people are seeing this for the first time and say wait " how come he's this huge asshole i heard/thought he was " He's def more like able and you can debate all this but can ya still balk at his relevance over the 40 yrs ? He 100 % composed all Misfit albums/eps and singles till he left every note every word ! Proof ? Check the Doyle video's. Samhain still has a major cult following .Danzig you've heard of them once or twice. Only artist ever to have an album (he has two) to hit No.1 on billboard classical charts as well as any other album to hit billboard Rock/Pop/Hip chart's at same time. Has a successful comic / figurine company he overseas using his own artistry and creates all its material ( the Verotik line self is worth at least a million w/o mainstream disruption ) .Owns and operates a record company worth 3 times that . Money and wealth of course doesn't buy credibility. But Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison ask 4 you too write songs or them to learn and play that might . Misfits are one of the most covered bands ever they had only one true studio album . Blackest of the Black Festival's . He' s just reunited the Misfits and 35 yrs after he left sold out 2 rock fest and instead doing more shows and making millions ..He just said that was for the fans and walked away. Pushing 62 yrs old that's still pretty relevant ..Idk people who say he is has-been, never was, washed up one hit wonder are not informed or cant look past him acting like a dick and having better shit to do then interviews ( when Mother hit big some of the interviewers my God asked the dumbest fn shit a wanted to back them ) Glenn are you satanist ? Dude ? Rick Rubin sent a Slayer video to MTV marked Danzig and no one ever forgot it and it was another media outlet hating on Danzig this time R. Rubin's fault not Glenn's . Remember MTV was the biggest cutting edge outlet artist could be of .They had their mark on everything ..magazines,.awards , radio , all video play , pop culture as a whole ...MTV had Google size influence media platform wise ...They banned Mother originally because of Rick's mistake and it took a pay per play vote in that got Mother some play 3 yrs later and its popularity forced MTV's hand and the newer live release blew up . So 4 records and 6 years after its original release all he getting is irrelevant Mother , Misfit reunion and his satanic views as the main topic's of interviews Man I'd be irradiated too .So now every one wants to talk Mother ? He's working on Danzig 4 and they are talking about a song from Danzig 1 like that's his latest release .Having to explain all that shit i just wrote again and again . Creatively and artistically must have been frustrating and tiresome ...might make anyone be an ass an look worse .Especially not knowing at least maybe some of his reasoning . Ill point out one way thinking and not willing to adapt sunk MTV but Glenn Danzig is still kicking and still the man . He should go into the Rock Roll Hall of Fame 2,3 maybe 4 times .Founding member of the Misfits . Founding member of Danzig and as Solo artist/composer and even a production side at least glance .. You know what make that time possible 5 time inductee for a Lifetime Achievement Award for 40-50 yrs of accomplishments should get a look . So many are in for MUCH less not to take away from any hall member just saying for each count there is merit but wtf do i know . Opinions are mine and like assholes ......
